This story isn’t my favorite. The prompt was to describe how you spend a snow day. I have not had a fun snow day in many years, so I chose to make one up. The entire time I was writing I just felt like I was rambling and not coming up with any new or fun ideas. I still want to post this though to show you my entire process.
My name is Stacey, and I am a ten-year-old girl in middle school. I went to bed last night to a cold rain outside. This morning the world is covered in a blanket of snow. The first thing I do is check if I must go to school. I don’t and my parents are out of work today too. The phone rang and it was Tiffany, my best friend from down the street. We agreed to get ready and meet up in an hour. After breakfast I layered up and put on my snow suite. Tiffany and I start out by making a snowman in my yard using the snow dad is taking off the driveway. Then we decide we want to give him a friend in Tiffany’s yard using the snow her dad shovel. We both get called in for lunch at that point.
After lunch my mom called Tiffany’s mom, and we all decide to go sledding at the park. A lot of families came out first thing this morning, so the line is a lot shorter now. Our dads act like children again with us. We even convince our moms to go down once as well. We all laughed so hard when we even tried going down all together. We ended up falling off and the sled went down without us.
As the sun begins to go down the group decides to spilt ways for a warm night in. My mom, dad and I decided to make homemade pizza for dinner. After we cuddle on the couch for a movie and hot chocolate. I ask my parents if er can have fun like this tomorrow too. Dad tells me that the roads should be clear by then and I’ll have to go back to school. But mom adds that there will be more snow days in my life, and we will enjoy as many of them together as we can.
